I was born and raised in McPherson, KS, and also chose to continue my education at McPherson College where many generations of my family had attended. The Church of the Brethren was a core part of my formative years as that is where my parents and a slew of other mentors helped me to become the person I am today.
I live in McPherson with my husband, Darren, who is a graphic designer and media specialist at Heartland Credit Union. We have been married for over 25 years and have three young adults who we are proud to be parents of: Rachael, Wichita, KS, Joel, Kansas City, KS, and Renae, Lawrence, KS. My fur babies, Marvel and Daisy, are two of my favorite creatures to be around and snuggle with. I also enjoy watching true crime series and documentaries and getting outside for a walk with my husband.
I always wanted to be a teacher, and I was honored to be a part of the public education system for over ten years. When I had the opportunity to apply to become a director of youth ministries at McPherson First UMC, I jumped at the opportunity. It is a perfect way to mesh my passions: spending time with youth and my love of the church and Jesus.
