Enrique N. Barreiro is a visionary leader, dedicated mentor, and servant of God who brings over two decades of dynamic leadership and community service to his role as Chair of the Church Leadership Board. A combat military veteran and accomplished academic, Barreiro combines his deep passion for strategic planning and innovation with a heart committed to empowering others to reach their full potential.
Barreiro holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Management and Organizations), an MBA in Healthcare, International Business, and Project Management, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and a degree in Theoretical Physics. Throughout his career, he has inspired teams through strategic coaching, fostering collaboration, and promoting a culture of accountability and respect for diversity. His extensive expertise spans research, data analysis, financial management, and talent development, all of which contribute to his impactful leadership style.
In his current role as Senior Dean at Southern New Hampshire University, Barreiro drives success through strategic leadership and cross-functional collaboration. His work includes aligning team skills and motivation with institutional objectives, promoting inclusivity, and advocating for learners' success through innovative pathways. Barreiro’s commitment to excellence and student-centered leadership continues to leave a lasting impact on higher education.
A passionate soccer enthusiast, Barreiro has served as Head Coach for the Armed Forces Over-30 Soccer Team and is honored to have been selected to represent the United States Men's Soccer National Team Over-40 in the upcoming World Cup in Thailand in June 2025. His commitment to leadership extends beyond the field, as he has mentored young Airmen at McConnell Air Force Base, instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
Barreiro cherishes spending quality time with his wife, Michelle, and their twin sons, Axel Frost and Atlas Fox, whom he proudly calls his “identical twin studs.” He also enjoys reading about physics, playing soccer, watching movies, and contributing to his community. Through his leadership in his church and his dedication to building others up, Barreiro embodies a servant’s heart and a steadfast commitment to faith.
