The McPherson First United Methodist Church held a special Church Conference on April 6, 2025, where the congregation voted unanimously to recommend Megan Eisenbarth as a candidate for ministry in the United Methodist Church. District Superintendent Karen Rice-Ratzlaff presided over the meeting, which marks a significant milestone in Megan's journey toward ordained ministry.

During the conference, Megan shared her call to ministry with the fifty-four voting members present. She expressed her intention to attend Saint Paul School of Theology, pursuing studies either online or in a hybrid format. Terry Hardman, speaking on behalf of Leadership Board shared the board's full support following their interview process with Megan in January 2025.

Paper ballots were cast with all fifty-four votes favoring the recommendation, surpassing the required two-thirds majority. The congregation concluded this meaningful event with prayer over Megan, who feels drawn to the path of Elder in the United Methodist Church. The Church Conference represents a formal step in the United Methodist candidacy process, moving Megan forward in her discernment and preparation for ministry.

Community members wishing to support Megan's journey are encouraged to offer prayers, share words of encouragement, write notes of support, or consider mentoring future ministry candidates within the congregation.
